We are seeking a Supporting Architect/Supporting Designer.
We are: A family-owned one-hundred-plus person residential design-build firm in Seattle. For over thirty years we have specialized in high-quality custom remodels and new homes. We perform real Design-Build daily and our Architects/Designers frequently interface directly with Lead Carpenters, Project Managers, and our own in-house cabinet shop to create beautiful work.
We seek: Applicant must be proficient in Autocad. This position will work under and collaborate with our Project Architects and Creative Directors. In addition, the applicant will interface directly with interior designers, carpenters, and cabinetmakers. Ability to project hours and hit target dates is a must. We work almost exclusively for homeowners and we hit our deadlines.
We Offer: This is a full-time position with PTO accrual immediately and health/dental/rx plan/vision/long term disability and 401k after sixty days. We pay hourly and respect the forty-hour week – all hours over forty results in overtime pay. Wage range $25-$50 depending on experience.

We are a family-owned, one hundred plus person residential design-build firm that for over thirty years has specialized in high-quality custom remodels. We require five to seven years’ experience in residential design, or comparable experience in a commercial, construction or retail setting. Applicant must have four or more years of design education and have worked in an environment requiring one on one client interaction. The ideal applicant has some experience in AutoCAD, is proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office and has experience sourcing interiors furnishings and ordering custom furniture/upholstery. In addition, the applicant will exhibit the ability to multi-task, problem solve and manage 5+ projects at one time while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. We are: A family owned design-build company with 110+ plus employees and a strong desire to build beautiful projects. We run clean, safe, efficient jobsites and we make friends with the neighbors while we are doing it.
We Seek: The usual stuff – must have reliable transportation and your own hand and power tools an experienced professional would carry. In addition, we are looking for an individual with 20+ years’ experience in residential remodel construction. The candidate must be creative and flexible, be able to problem solve a carpentry solution with ease and confidence. They are also punctual and professional.
Responsibilities: This position will report to a Superintendent. The candidate will work independently, as well as with jobsite leads and journeyman and possibly an apprentice. There will be client interaction as well. Strong communication skills are a must. Our ideal applicant is a creative problem solver with really good hands. Someone who appreciates a good challenge and is an expert in their field.
We are looking for candidates who have many of the skills below:
Framing:
– Strong residential/remodel framing skills
– Adapt the new framing to an old out of square/level house
– Frame a new 2nd story
– Ability to understand and incorporate framing strategies that considers future interior trim and cabinetry, as well as plumbing/mechanical/electrical installs.
– Ability to read structural and architectural drawings and to lead, teach and motivate a crew of lesser experienced carpenters
– Proficiency at stick framed and trussed roofs (including incorporating steel beams, moment frames, etc.) and stair framing

Experienced Driver/Materials Coordinator
JAS Design-Build, Inc., a mid-sized Design-Build firm in Seattle, is seeking an experienced delivery/truck driver to provide support to all JAS carpenters by transporting materials to and from job sites. A physically demanding position, you will need to be able to lift heavy loads periodically throughout the day. We put a strong emphasis on safe driving, proper lifting, and careful materials handling techniques.
We Seek: We are looking for an experienced driver to support all departments with deliveries, material orders/pickups and debris disposal. Primarily, this position supports our jobsites but can also include cabinet deliveries, furniture installs for our Interior Furnishings department, labor and coordination with the Service department and the occasional travel to/from Lopez Island to support our island team. Ideally, you would communicate with the site leads and supervisors to set your own schedule for the week, look ahead to future needs and coordinate with various departments. While the basic job description is to drive a small dump truck, we hope this role can expand with someone who is a self-starter, enjoys working unsupervised, can stay on task and is comfortable communicating with a variety of team members. Professionalism and an instinct to go the extra mile are a huge plus. Driving record must meet commercial insurance requirements. Some familiarity with tools and materials is a plus but not required.
Please note that this position requires frequent, heavy lifting and hauling of hundreds to thousands of pounds of materials per week. Jobsite labor and assistance are not uncommon.
